Washington Sq. Park & Edgewater Golf Range

I added flowers and plants around the bench which is originally on a concrete floor. I am sort of happy with how it turned out.

Later that day I happen to go to the Edgewater golf range and I did some more sketching there.

I am happy with this drawing but with little bit planing before starting I could have fit whole lamp post on my sketch pad. Alas! well.. next time :|

This time the sketching meet-up group met at Washington Square park. The park is renovated and looks awesome. I used only artist pen to draw.

Central Park Sketching

This is a small and not so popular waterfall inside the park, near 59th street and 6th ave. exit. I used pencil for both drawing and shading, then inverted in Photoshop and changed the Hue.

Then we went into the park. Pencil drawing, shading with Vine charcoal, then artist pen on top and Hue changed in Photoshop.

This is in the same area but I focused on street view. Again Vine charcoal on light pencil drawing and artist pen on top. Then changed Hue in Photoshop.

This was my first time with meet-up sketching group who sketch at and around Central Park in NYC. I finally managed to force myself and get up early on a Saturday morning and I am glad I did. We first sketched at the Grand Army Plaza. This is one of my favorite fountain in the city. I used Vine Charcoal over a light pencil drawing.
